Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 22, 2026 · Applies to the SafePaws mobile app and pawsafely.com

SafePaws is built by True Motion LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, what leaves your device, and the choices you have. The short version: the app works mostly on your device, we don't sell personal data, and we only collect what the features need.

Information the app uses

Location and walk tracking

SafePaws asks for location permission to show the hazard map, estimate ground temperature where you are, pin hazard reports, and record walks. The app uses your location only while you are using it, or while a walk you started is actively recording.

The app does not request background location access. When no walk is running and SafePaws is closed, it cannot see where you are.

When you start a walk, recording runs as a foreground service with a notification that stays visible the whole time it is running. You can end the walk from the app at any time, and ending it stops location collection.

A recorded walk holds the route, distance, moving time, and periodic ground-temperature samples. Walks are saved on your device and are never uploaded to us. A walk is only shared if you open it and tap Share, which passes a text summary to whichever app you pick from your phone's own share sheet. That summary includes a map link to where the walk started, so anyone you send it to can see that location. You can delete any individual walk from Walk History, and removing the app deletes all walk history from your device.

Where your location goes

There is no SafePaws server. We do not run a backend, and none of your data is sent to us. What does leave your device goes directly to three independent services:

All three receive your precise location, not a rounded or blurred version of it. The first two happen automatically as you use the app; the vet search only runs when you ask for it. None of them are sent an account, a name, or a device identifier by us, and each handles the request under its own privacy policy.

Payments

Premium subscriptions bought inside the Android app are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your card details. Google handles the payment and processes your data under its own privacy policy.

What we don't do

Data retention and deletion

Everything the app stores lives on your device, so you control all of it directly. Delete a hazard report and its photo from Hazard Map → tap the counter → Delete. Delete a walk from Walk History. Remove a profile photo from the pet profile. Deleting the app removes everything at once. We hold no copy of any of it (there is no SafePaws server), but if you have a question about your data, email us and we'll answer within 30 days.

Children

SafePaws is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it in the app and update the date at the top of this page.
